Allen, Teddy  New Mexico St.  6'6" 223 PF SR.

Allen averaged 19.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in 2021-22. He shot 33.5% 3-pt. FG, and 87.6% FT in 2021-22. He was the WAC Player of the Year. ...Allen had more turnovers than assists in each of the three seasons he played (at three different schools). Allen is an interesting story. He started his college career at West Virginia in 2017-18, then transfered to Wichita St. But he never played a game for them. He was dismissed from the team after being arrested (dispute with girlfriend). He enrolled at Western Nebraska Community College, where he was the national junior college scoring leader in 2019-20. He played at Nebraska in 2020-21. He abruptly quit after February, citing a wrist injury. He closed out his NCAA career at New Mexico St. in 2021-22. ...His DEFRTG was .8 pts. better than the New Mexico St. team DEFRTG. ...Allen is not going to be drafted. His scoring ability is legitimate. He scored 37 points in a win over UConn in their NCAA Tournament match-up. But we don't foresee Allen being put into those high usage situations in the NBA. Allen is already 24 years old.

Our best advice: in 2021, the 56th pick was Scottie Lewis. We advised, "draft Austin Reaves."
