Baldwin, Patrick Jr.  Milwaukee 6'10"  230 LPS frosh.

Baldwin is one of the harder players to gauge in this draft. The 19 year-old came into his freshman season rated as a lottery pick. However, the McDonald's All-American's season at Milwaukee was downright awful. He shot only  34.4% FG (45-of-131). He missed games due to injury and Covid. He only played in eleven contests in 2021-22. He had more turnovers than assists. ...It is easy to see his upside. He has good size and a soft touch on his jump shot. He had a game this season where he nailed six threes. However, Baldwin was a low percentage shooter in his partial season (26%). Baldwin is right handed.  His wingspan is 7'1.75". He shot 74% FT. ...At the NBA Draft Combine, Baldwin didn't help himself. He has the second slowest lane agility time, and finished dead last in max vert. (26.5"). Likewise, he was near the bottom in 3/4 court sprint time, and the shuttle run. ...Baldwin suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the second contest of his high school senior year. ...Baldwin won gold with Team USA at the 2021 U19 World Cup. Baldwin averaged 7.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, shooting 47 percent from the floor (21-of-44) in those seven games.  ...We think Baldwin is likely to be picked anywhere from late first to early second round. ...Despite his pedigree, we would probably let someone else take a chance on him. The injuries, and poor athletic profile concern us.

Our best advice: in 2002, the 51st pick was Marcus Taylor. We advised, "draft Udonis Haslem."
