Bane, Desmond

Bane is a trustworthy, right handed wing that we project as a backup shooting guard or small forward. He has a strong frame and he uses it well. He averaged 16.6 points, 3.9 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game in 2019-20. He was named First Team All-Big 12. He is an accurate shooter. He made 44.3% of his CAREER three-point attempts! He shot 80.4% FT (career). He has a career 1.51-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Bane is durable too. He led the Big 12 in minutes played the last two seasons. He finished third in Big 12 boxscore plus/minus. TCU was slightly better defensively with Bane in the game (.2 points per 100 possessions). He is among the rare prospects that have a wingspan (6'4") shorter than their height. ...In all interviews we've seen, Bane strikes us as a mature player that will fit into any locker room and be an asset. We believe he will be selected in the late first round.

Good advice... In 2006, the 28th pick was Maurice Ager. We advised, "draft P.J. Tucker."
