Beekman brings a defensive mindset as a lead guard. He averaged 14.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists (led the ACC) on an offensively challenged Virginia team. He led the entire NCAA in assist percentage. He shot just 31% from three-point range and he made 75.4% of his free throws. Beekman finished third in ACC boxscore plus/minus. Beekman's DEFRTG was 1.2 points better than the Virginia team DEFRTG. He was twice named ACC Defensive Player of the Year. He has a 6'7" wingspan so any concerns about his 6'1" height should be put to rest. He is right handed but he uses his left hand well. He posted a 36.5" max. vert. at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine. Beekman will most likely go un-drafted. We think he should be considered for sure. He would be among our first calls if he doesn't hear his name among the 58 chosen. (see video)
