Branham, Malaki Ohio St. 6'6" 194 SG frosh.

Branham stood out as a future NBA player in his one season at Ohio State. He made plays at NBA speed, showcasing his quickness and accurate shooting. The Big Ten Rookie of the Year averaged 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. He shot a really nice 41.6% from beyond the NCAA arc. He backed that up with 83.3% free throw shooting. Branham's 1.18-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio speaks to his youthful decision making. He needs to tighten that area of his game up. Likewise, the Buckeyes were much better (3.2 points per 100 possessions) defensively when Branham was off the floor. His wingspan is 6'10" and he is athletically gifted so defense shouldn't be an issue. He needs to be coached up and care more on that end. Branham is right handed but he will dunk with his left. His max vert is 35". ...Branham was Ohio Mr. Basketball as a high school Senior. ...We thought Branham oozed with potential especially as the season went on. He has a way to go but if he hits his ceiling he could be a very good NBA wing. We expect him to be taken late in the lottery.

Our best advice: in 2018, the 20th pick was Josh Okogie. We advised, "draft Robert Williams."
