Carey, Vernon Duke  6'10" 270 PF frosh.

Carey is a left-handed, wide-shouldered BIG that can run well for his size. He has good hands (a compliment we rarely give). He will finish above the rim. ...Carey averaged a stout, 17.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.6 blocked shots per game in 2019-20. He led the ACC in boxscore plus/minus. Duke was better by four points per 100 possessions defensively with Carey on the floor. Carey made 8 of 21 three-points shots (38%). The three-ball is by no means, his bread and butter. He is best at drawing fouls as a roller, and banging in the paint. He shot 67% FT. ...He had more than twice as many turnovers as assists.  He was named First-Team All-ACC. ...Carey was a McDonald's All-American that won two Florida High School State Championships.  His father, Vernon Carey Sr., played eight years on the offensive line for the Miami Dolphins ...We expect Carey to slip to early in the second round which is too late in our opinion.

Our best advice: in 2011, the 10th pick was Jimmer Fredette. We advised, "draft Kawhi Leonard."
