Carter, Wendell  Duke 6'10" 259 PF frosh Were it not for all the headlines generated by his frontcourt teammate Marvin Bagley, Wendell Carter might be among the most talked about players in the Draft. ...Carter is a strong forward that averaged 13.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocked shots per game. He can stretch the defense by hitting 41% of his three-point shots. Carter was the defensive anchor for Duke. The team was 4.9 points per 100 possessions better defensively with Carter on the floor. He is a bit foul prone, and he will likely need to work on his lateral quickness to avoid being targeted in NBA games. ...Carter led the ACC, as a freshman, in box score plus/minus! ...Carter is really intriguing. By metrics alone, you can make a strong case for Carter being the top pick in the Draft. He didn't strike us as a player with a killer instinct. There were games where Carter would be invisible for a half. We think Carter will be selected among the top eight. He seems like a mature, good kid that is a really safe pick.

Good Advice: In 1999, the 5th pick in the NBA Draft was Jonathan Bender. We advised, "Draft Shawn Marion."
