Childs is a right-handed power-forward that was First Team All WCC in each of the last two seasons.  He has a back-to-the-basket post game, and he scores in transition very well. ...Childs averaged 22.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2 assists per game in 2019-20. He shot 35% (career) from beyond the college three-point line.    He struggles at the free throw line, hitting just 63.6% FT for his four year career. BYU was decidedly better defensively with Childs on the floor. His DEFRTG was 6.7 points better than the BYU team DEFRTG. ...We really enjoyed watching Childs play. He hustles. He sets screens. He can score in pick and rolls, pick and pops, or in the deep post. He willingly runs the floor. He is foul prone, and his weak free throw percentage is a cause for some concern. We do not expect Childs to be drafted. We think that will prove to be a mistake. Childs can clearly play the game the right way.
