D-League Showcase Day One report

We say every year that the NBA D-League is improving. After digging into our Hoop Obsession stat audit of the D-League and watching games from the first day of the 2017 D-League Showcase, we believe even more strongly that D-League is stocked with players to keep NBA veterans on their toes.

The opening action of the 2017 D-League Showcase took place Wednesday January 18th. Five games were played at the Hershey Centre, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

We like to acknowledge the player that had the highest efficiency rating among the winning teams (must have played at least 20 minutes). Cory Jefferson of the Austin Spurs was that man Wednesday. The 6’9” pivot scored 19 points (8-16 FG, 1-4 3-pt., 2-2 FT), grabbed 12 rebounds, and blocked two shots in 20 minutes. The Spurs defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 119-100
