Dieng, Ousmane NZ Breakers  6'9" 195 LPS 5/21/03

Dieng is a 6'9" low percentage shooting wing with good length and defensive potential. He can also handle the ball a bit (although at this point he is VERY right hand dominant). He just turned 19 years old. So far, in four professional seasons overseas, he has yet to shoot over 40% FG and he's never had a season with more assists than turnovers. He shot 27% from three-point range in the NBL and he is a 78% free throw shooter (career). Much has been made about his improvement in the second half of the NBL season but we are talking about less than 500 minutes played total in the WHOLE season. In our opinion, Dieng is perhaps the biggest "what if?" in this Draft. He did show flashes of brilliance but we think being a consistent NBA rotation player is still a long way off. We expect him to be taken in the middle of the first round and whoever selects him should be patient. We would let someone else take the gamble on him.

Our best advice: in 2014, the 42nd pick was Nick Johnson. We advised, "draft Thanasis Antetokounmpo."
