Ryan Dunn is an ELITE defender. He's easily among the ten-best defenders I've seen in 25 years of obsessing over the NBA Draft. Dunn averaged 8.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots (led the ACC) per game in 2023-24. He was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team. Dunn's DEFRTG was 7.5 points better than the Virginia team DEFRTG. He plays hard and he will sacrifice his body for a loose ball. Unfortunately, Dunn was an AWFUL shooter at Virginia (23.5% 3-pt FG, 53.2% FT). He had more turnovers than assists. He is right-handed with a 38.5" max. vert. and a 7'2" wingspan. Dunn is likely to be taken late in round one. We view him as a player worth trying to develop. Nobody who plays for Tony Bennett ever has great offensive numbers. So, it follows that players that are below average offensively can look like they're further away from efficiency than they truly are. If Dunn can unlock some offensive efficiency, he could be a steal in this Draft. (see video)

Our best advice: in 2012, the 29th pick was Marquis Teague. We advised, "draft Draymond Green."
