Duren, Jalen  Memphis  6'11" 245 C frosh.

Duren is a rare case of ultra-athletic ability in a 6'11", 240 + lb. frame. People as big as Duren shouldn't be able to move the way he does. He is still just 18 years old and won't turn 19 until November 18th. His wingspan is a reported 7'5". Duren averaged 12.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots per game. He is a lob threat that must be respected. He runs with a purpose. He doesn't shoot the three-ball (one attempt in 2021-22), and he is a poor free throw shooter at 62.5%. Duren had almost twice as many turnovers as assists.  Defensively, Duren was impactful. He led the American Athletic Conference in blocked shots. He is a ferocious rebounder, especially on the offensive glass. Rt. handed. We anticipate Duren will be picked among the first eight picks. Duren has a ways to go before he is likely to positively impact winning a NBA game. However, the fact that Duren is almost a full year younger than most of the freshman that declared combined with his athletic profile means he may be a big swing worth taking.

Our best advice: in 2015, the 11th pick was Myles Turner. We advised, "draft Devin Booker."
