Edey was the star and face of Men's college basketball in 2023-24. He averaged 25.2 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.2 blocked shots and 2 assists per game. He shot 62.3% FG, and 71.1% FT. He was the AP, and NABC National Player of the Year. He won the John Wooden Award. He was the Big Ten P.o.Y. Edey is freakishly BIG. He is also talented. He worked hard to improve his body and conditioning and he logged heavy minutes without a problem. ...He had more turnovers than assists and he doesn't shoot the three-ball (only two attempts) but both of those are explainable. He SHOULDN'T pass when he gets the ball deep in the paint. The lack of threes is also purely a function of him being more valuable anchored in the paint. Defensively, Edey doesn't move great laterally but the space he takes up, and can makeup for, with his length allowed him to have a DEFRTG that was 3.7 points better than the Purdue DEFRTG. His wingspan is 7'11"! He is right handed. Edey commands a double or triple team in the post. He led the Big Ten in free throw attempts and he is the conference's career leader in points scored. He creates mismatches. He uses either hand well and he gobbles up rebounds at an elite rate on both ends. Edey is the career Big Ten leader in FG% at 62%. We think Edey will go in the middle of round one. We strongly believe that is way too late. Zach Edey can play. He is a weapon. His advantages far outweigh his limitations or any awkwardness in his game. He is the NCAA's CAREER LEADER in boxscore plus/minus. We view him as a potential top-tier starting Center in the NBA.
