Elleby, CJ Washington St. 6'6" 185 SF Soph.

Elleby is an aggressive left-handed wing player that impressed us with his skill and will. Elleby averaged 18.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game in 2019-20. He was named First Team All Pac-12. In his two seasons at Washington State he shot 36% 3-pt. FG. This season, he shot 82.3% FT. Elleby had more turnovers than assists in his career at Washington St. That stat may be a bit deceiving due to the lack of talented teammates Elleby played with. That said, Elleby can improve by turning down some shots in favor of sharing. ...Elleby was a defensive difference maker for the Cougars. They were 4.7 points per 100 possessions better on defense with Elleby on the floor. It is rare to see such a big defensive rating differential from a wing player. ...We are not sure if Elleby will be drafted. Obviously, we think he should be. The BIGs he played with at Washington St. did little to help Elleby's game. Place him with NBA talent, and NBA coaching and we believe he will shine. We view him as a future starter in the NBA.

Our best advice: in 2012, the 21st pick was Jared Sullinger. We advised, "draft Draymond Green."
