Fears has a poise that is uncommon among young guards. As an 18 year-old he averaged 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He didn't shoot the three-ball well as a freshman (28.4% 3-pt. fg) but his shot looks fine and he is an 85.1% free throw shooter. His assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.2-to-1 was much more two-guard-ish than Point Guard. He led the SEC in turnovers. His DEFRTG was slightly better than the Sooners' team DEFRTG. He is willing to take a charge. He jumped a 36.5" max. vert at the NBA Draft Combine. Right handed but uses his left well. We expect Fears to be drafted in the middle of the lottery. We worry a bit that he's not really a PG, and then you have a small two-guard. If all goes well and he hits his ceiling, we think he can be a top-tier guard in the NBA.
