Garza, Luka Iowa 6'10" 242 C SR.

Garza is an accurate shooting, hard-working, BIG that unfortunately has feet that move well below the average NBA pace. That stated, Garza's numbers in college were impressive. He averaged 24.1 points (led the nation in total points scored), 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 blocked shots per game in 2020-21. We was named the Associated Press National Player of the Year, as well as Big Ten P.o.Y. He shot 44% from three-point range, and 70.9% FT for one of the best teams in the NCAA. ...Garza measured with a 7'1.5" wingspan at the Draft Combine. ...Garza led the Big Ten in boxscore plus/minus. ...In a half-court setting, offensively, Garza can play with anyone. Really. His shot is money. But as we all know, the NBA is a more wide-open full court game than it's ever been, and there is no getting around Garza's heavy feet. ...We think Garza will be selected late in round two.

Our best advice: in 2012, the 36th pick was Orlando Johnson. We advised, "draft Will Barton."
