Giddey, Josh  Adelaide 6'8" 205 PG 10/10/02

Giddey is unique. He's an 18 year-old, 6'8" Point Guard with a nice feel for the game. He was the Australian NBL Rookie of the Year for 2020-21. He had a 2.25-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He is an average athlete (by NBA standards) but his size allows him to be more effective as a defender than most smaller PGs. Right handed but uses his left hand very well. He can makes passes off the dribble with either hand. ...Giddey's shooting numbers are not impressive (29% 3-pt., 69% FT). ...While a guard with that vision and size is certainly worth investigating, we are not as high on Giddey as others who view him as a lottery pick. We love the willingness and legitimate skill to set up others as a 6'8" ball-handler. However, we think his limited ability to score and short arms for his frame (6'8" wingspan) limit his ceiling. We view him as a future NBA reserve PG.

Our best advice: in 2015, the 19th pick was Jerian Grant. We advised, "draft Bobby Portis."
