Gortman is a quick-twitch small guard that is a low percentage deep shooter (32.9% 3-pt. FG). He averaged 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in 2022-23. The 20 year-old shot 44.7% FG, and 79.6% FT this season playing in the Overtime Elite league. He was considered a five-star recruit out of the high school class of 2022. He bypassed offers from Kansas, Alabama, Miami, and Texas (among others) to play for OTE. He can create space with his ball-handling ability and quickness. Posted a 1.36-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. ...Measured with a 38.5" max. vert. at the G-League Elite Camp (2023). ...We do not foresee Gortman being drafted. We think he could be a potential NBA reserve as a two-guard based on his bucket-getting ability. He will need to improve his deep shooting to get there.

Our best advice: in 2018, the 9th pick was Kevin Knox, we advised, "Draft Mikal Bridges."
