His parents met in the United States when his father attended the University of Oregon. Hartenstein grew up in Germany and he has been playing professionally there since 2015. At the U18 European Championships, he stood out averaging team-highs 14.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.7 steals. ...Hartenstein struggles to make three-point shots (8 of 30, 26% this season). He is a 71% FT shooter. ...We expect him to be selected in the late first round of the 2017 NBA Draft. We think that is too early for him given the current cluttered landscape of Centers.
