Hawkins, Jordan

Hawkins is a sweet shooting athlete that absolutely looks the part of an NBA wing. He averaged 16.2 points and 3.8 rebounds for the National Champion Connecticut Huskies. He shot 38.8% from beyond the college arc (on heavy volume) and he made 88.7% of his free throws. He was named First Team All-Big East. Hawkins is mostly looking to shoot. He moves well without the ball and he has a quick release. Right-handed. He can finish above the rim. He had slightly more turnovers than assists in two seasons of college-ball. Hawkins finished sixth in Big East boxscore plus/minus despite having a big disparity defensively. U-Conn was 4.6 points per 100 possessions better defensively when Hawkins was off the floor. Hawkins had sophomore standing but he is the age of a junior (21). ...We enjoyed watching Hawkins play on offense. He uses screens well, and he is a tough cover, making opponents expend energy. We always value athletic players with shooting accuracy, and Hawkins has that. We expect him to be selected in the late-lottery.

Our best advice: in 2011, The 14th pick was Marcus Morris. We advised, "take Kawhi Leonard."
