Hayes, Jaxson Texas 7'0" 219 C frosh. Hayes is a young freshman that comes across as a smart kid. He was the Big 12 Rookie of the Year. As he gains strength he has a chance to succeed at a high level. To be certain, he is an "upside play". He only averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds per game in 2018-19. His immediate value will come as a shot blocker. He averaged 2.2 blocks per game. ...He scores close to the basket and he does so very well. He led the NCAA in Effective FG%. ...He is very raw but he is a good athlete and he has big hands. The downside is that Hayes had only nine assists on the season (747 minutes)! He doesn't shoot the three-ball (zero attempts in freshman season). His 74% free throw shooting suggests he has some touch. ...We expect Hayes to be taken in the top-ten. The landscape at the NBA Center position is crowded with athletic AND skilled players. Hayes will need to fully develop to get to starting NBA pivot status. He certainly is an interesting piece of clay to mold.

Good Advice: In 2012, the 19th pick in the NBA Draft was Andrew Nicholson. We advised, "Draft Draymond Green."
