Holmes is a right-hander that can play five or four. The Atlantic-10 Player of the Year averaged 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game playing as a college FIVE. He has a career blocked shot average of 2.1 per game. He was also the A-10 Defensive Player of the Year. Holmes shot 36% from three-point range, while connecting on 71.3% of his free throws in 2023-24, both major improvements over his first two college seasons. This season he led the A-10 in scoring, rebounding, shot blocking, field goal percentage, effective FG percentage, true shooting percentage, free throws made and free throws attempted. Holmes led the A-10 in boxscore plus/minus the last two seasons. Holmes improved his decision making in 2023-24, finishing with a 1.16-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Holmes has a 7'1" wingspan and small hands compared to most NBA FIVES. He is an average-to-below average runner/jumper. We think Holmes will be drafted in the back half of the first round. We view him as a possible starting FOUR in the NBA if he can prove he guard opposing FOURs while still knocking down the three-ball at good clip. If it turns out, he is strictly a Center, we like him a lot less. See video
