Houstan, Caleb  Michigan     6'8" 205 PF frosh.

Houstan is a right handed wing shooter that looks the part. He has an NBA ready body. However, he really struggled in 2021-22 (38% FG). He was woefully inefficient and mostly invisible. He averaged 10.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game as a freshman. He shot 35.5% 3-pt FG, and 78.3% FT. He had more turnovers than assists and his DEFRTG was 3.1 points worse than the Michigan team DEFRTG. ...It wasn't like Houstan wasn't given a chance. He played 32 minutes per game. He just wasn't very good at all. ...Houstan was the leading scorer for Canada's U19 team at the World Cup in 2021. ...We expect Houstan to be selected in the mid second round. Any team picking him is just making a development bet. He does do one thing well. He can shoot it. But his success was limited to catch and shot situations. He was awful off the dribble (9th percentile, according to Synergy Sports). ...His size and shooting ability may carry him but we would advise all teams to tread with caution on Houstan.

Our best advice: in 2017, the 18th pick was T.J. Leaf. We advised, "draft John Collins."
