Howard is the son of Juwan Howard. He is a right-handed, shot-creating wing that flashed moments of brilliance as a Michigan freshman. He averaged 14.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. He shot 36.8% from beyond the college arc, and 80% FT. He showed a real desire to make three-point shots, to the detriment of his efficiency. He wound up at 41% FG which is way too low for his body type. We thought he was best driving to the basket and getting to the mid-range. He sees the floor well and he has ball-handling ability that most his size do not have. Howard posted a 1.59-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He moves without the ball better than most his age but his clock awareness and shot selection needs help. Howard struggled on defense, with a Defensive Rating 4.4 points worse than the Michigan team DEFRTG. We believe Howard will be taken in the middle of round one. We see the obvious upside but we think he is further away from being an NBA contributor than most do.

Our best advice: in 2015, the 28th pick was RJ Hunter, we advised, "Draft Kevon Looney."
