Gonzalez is an energetic 19 year-old Spanish player that has not figured out how to be efficient (yet?). He averaged 3.5 points, and 1.8 rebounds playing sparingly in the Spanish ACB. He is a low percentage three-point shooter (28.7%). He shot 75.8% FT, giving some hope that he will eventually transfer that touch to the deeper shots. Gonzalez had more turnovers than assists. His DEFRTG was 0.6 points better than his team's DEFRTG. Right handed. Both of his parents were professional basketball players. Hugo made his debut with Spain's Senior National Team in February 2025. We think Gonzalez will be a late first round pick. We think that may prove to be a wasted pick. He is simply not efficient enough. We see him as a low tier reserve at best in the NBA.
