"Bones" Hyland is fun to watch. He is a thin, right-handed, scoring guard that stands 6'2" but has a 6'9" wingspan. He has an easy way about his offensive game and he has great anticipation on defense. As a sophomore, he averaged 19.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He was the Atlantic-10 Player of the Year. In two seasons at VCU he shot 39.9% from beyond the college arc. He made an outstanding 86.2% of his free throws in 2020-21. ...Hyland is a shot hunter. He will always give himself a chance with his aggressive, scorer's mentality. ...After a freshman season with a good assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.58-to-1, Hyland went backwards as a sophomore and actually had more t.o.'s than assists.  ...Hyland finished third in A-10 boxscore plus/minus. VCU was .8 points per 100 possessions better on defense with Hyland in the game. You rarely see a positive defensive number from a scorer such as Hyland. ...We believe "Bones" will be selected in the second round.
