Jackson was a heralded recruit that struggled to be efficient as a freshman at South Carolina. He re-classified early to enter college at age 17. He just turned 18 in December, 2022. Jackson averaged 15.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game on a bad team. He shot 32.4% from beyond the NCAA arc and he hit 67.7% of his free throws. He had more than three times more turnovers than assists. Jackson was a plus defender with his DEFRTG being .7 points better than the South Carolina team DEFRTG. He had a 37" max. vert at the 2023 NBA Draft Combine. He is quick off his feet. He has a 6'11.5" wingspan. Right handed but uses his left well. We believe Jackson will be selected late in round one. He is among the biggest upside swings in this Draft. He is just so young, and he has shown immature actions on and off the court, moreso than many of his peers. We would let someone else take that first round chance on him. Jackson has a long way to go as a TEAM player.

Our best advice: in 2006, the 34th pick was Paul Davis. We advised, "draft P.J. Tucker."
