Jackson, Josh  Kansas 6'8" 202 SF frosh. Jackson was the 2016-17 Big 12 Freshman of the Year. He averaged 16.3 points (51% FG, 38% 3-pt., 56% FT), 7.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. Jackson had slightly more assists than turnovers (104 assists, 97 turnovers). He scored 31 points, and grabbed eleven rebounds in his best game this season, a win at Texas Tech. ...Measured at the Hoop Summit 2016, Jackson had a 6'9.75" wingspan (quarter-inch longer than Chandler Parsons). Jackson's DEFRTG was significantly better than the Kansas team DEFRTG. ...Jackson was suspended by Head Coach Bill Self for the opening game of the Big 12 Tournament. Kansas then fell to TCU in that contest. Jackson was disciplined for vandalizing the car of a female who threw a drink on one of his teammates. ...As a prep: McDonald's All-American. He won gold medals at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championships, the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championships, and the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championships. ...While Jackson projects as a possible future All-Star, we think it may take him awhile to reach that status. In many respects, his game is still pretty raw. He gets by on his athleticism more than his skill at this stage. He played many minutes as a power forward in a small lineup at Kansas. I have questions about his ability to ever be a good enough shooter to excel on the wing. ...I like Jackson's upside. I like his defensive ability. The shooting woes concern me.
