James is a sharp 22 year-old guard that is a "glue-guy". He averaged 8.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in 2024-25. His assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.44-to-1 is outstanding. James played four seasons at Tulane before finishing up his NCAA career at Duke. James shot 41.3% from three point range, and he backed up that accuracy with 81% foul shooting. He is an NBA athlete by all measures. He will dunk in traffic. He jumped a 39.5 max vert., and posted the best 3/4-court sprint time at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine. He has positional size. He uses either hand well. ...His DEFRTG was 1.4 points worse than the Duke team DEFRTG. We like his game overall. The toughness and athletic pop he brings to the floor is palpable. We view James as a potential backup guard in the NBA. We think he will be selected in the middle of round two.
