Johnson has some "shake" to his game. He is an athletic, right-handed guard with a 6'9" wingspan that looked good at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine. Johnson only played 8 minutes per game for Illawarra. In that small sample, his DEFRTG was 1.8 points better than his team's DEFRTG but his efficiency per minute was horrible. He did have slightly more assists than turnovers but he is NOT a point guard. He is super aggressive and he will need to find more discipline in his forays to the basket. He will benefit from playing with better athletes that are capable of playing FAST. Johnson has the quick twitch athleticism that others simply do not possess. He posted a 38" max. vert. at the Combine. We foresee someone gambling on Johnson in the early second round. He has a long way to go in our opinion but if his skills ever catch up to his gifts as a runner/jumper, he might be special. (see video)
