Jones, Dillon

Weber St.

Jones is a big guard (right handed) that led the Big Sky in rebounds per game. He is 6'5" but he has a 6'11" wingspan and that makes him a disruptive defender. His DEFRTG was a whopping 6.2 points per 100 possessions better than the Weber St. team DEFRTG. He led the Big Sky in boxscore plus/minus. Jones performed well in post-season camps and he put himself on the map as a possibility to be selected. Jones averaged 16.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists as a junior at Weber St. He is a low percentage three-point shooter (31.8% 3-pt fg, career). He is good at the free throw line, shooting 81.3% FT in 2022-23. ...Jones showed toughness by leading the Big Sky in minutes played. ...He is not a great athlete from a running and jumping standpoint. He could shed 15-20 lbs., and that would help him. We think he deserves serious consideration to be drafted. His ability on defense is real. He's not that far off on offense. He should shine playing with better quality athletes. We think he can be a top tier reserve in the NBA if he can improve his deep shooting.

Our best advice: in 2019, the 42nd pick was Admiral Schofield, we advised, "Draft Bol Bol."
