Jones, Mason  Arkansas 6'5" 200 SG soph.

Mason Jones is an aggressive right handed guard that can score in a variety of ways. He impressed the heck out of us with his "will and feel". He averaged 22 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game in 2019-20. He was named First Team All-SEC. Jones shot 35.8% from beyond the arc in his two seasons at Arkansas. This season his free throw percentage was 82.6%, and no player reached the foul line as often as Jones. He led the NCAA in free throw attempts (and makes). His assist-to-turnover ratio was 1.26-to-1 for his career (which is just okay). ...He has a bully-ball game, but is also capable of dancing his way into his own creative shots. Defensively, Arkansas was better (albeit slightly) on defense with Jones on the floor. ...His detractors will rightfully point to his below-average athleticism from a running and jumping standpoint. Jones is unquestionably a below-the-rim player. We are not sure if Jones will even be drafted. That will prove to be a mistake, if so. We would stand on the table in the draft room on this one! Mason Jones has game on both ends. He led the SEC in boxscore plus/minus. We think he is a future starting NBA guard.

Our best advice: in 2015, the 31st pick was Cedi Osman. We advised, "draft Montrezl Harrell."
