Cockburn, Kofi Illinois 7'0" 293 C jr.

Kofi is a massive human being. His wingspan is 7'4.25" on a 7'0", 293 lb. frame. He averaged 20.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game in 2021-22. He shot 59% FG, and 65.5% FT. Right handed. Cockburn was named First Team All Big-Ten the last two seasons. Defensively, he closes out possessions as a good defensive rebounder. He led the Big Ten in rebounding the last two seasons and he was eighth in the NCAA in rebounds per game this season. Illinois was 2.7 points per 100 possessions better defensively with Kofi in the game. He finished sixth in Big Ten boxscore plus/minus. He doesn't shoot the three-ball at all and his feel for the game is sketchy at best. He had nearly four turnovers for every one assist in three seasons at Illinois. ...Cockburn is too big and too strong to be denied near the basket. We doubt he will be drafted but we do think he should be drafted. Even if not selected, he likely will play in the NBA. He knows his limitations and he does what he does. He sets screens that are effective. He rim runs. He rebounds. He is such a known prospect that I think some folks take him for granted.

Our best advice: in 2012, the 38th pick was Quincy Miller. We advised, "draft Will Barton."
