A.J. Lawson really opened eyes with his performance at the G-League Elite Combine, and then he continued that good play at the NBA Draft Combine. He is a right handed wing that plays at NBA speed. He averaged 16.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He made 35.1% of his three-balls, and he shot 70% FT. In his three-season college career, Lawson had a nearly equal amount of assists and turnovers. …Lawson showed a willingness to sacrifice his body at the Combine but his DEFRTG was 2.2 points worse than the South Carolina team DEFRTG. We view him as a potential backup wing and we do not expect him to be selected.
Our best advice: in 2012, the 21st pick was Jared Sullinger. We advised, "draft Draymond Green."
