Lawson, Dedric  Kansas 6'9" 233 PF jr.  His game is better than his athleticism. Lawson averaged 19.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game in 2018-19. He shot 39.3% from beyond the college arc, and 81.5% at the free throw line. Despite having a decent feel for the game, Lawson had more turnovers than assists this season. ...Lawson had one of the higher percentages of body fat (8.9%) when tested at the 2019 NBA Draft Combine. Relative to the other prospects and the data from past years, Lawson rates as one of the least gifted runners and jumpers. His 26" max. vert. was dead last this season. ...Lawson's best skill is his defensive rebounding ability. He was also a plus defender for the Jayhawks. ...Due to the historically skewed efficiency of prior Kansas Power Forwards, we are a bit skeptical of how Lawson's season numbers stack up in this Draft. Purely by the stats, Lawson should be a top-ten pick. The lack of any explosive ability concerns us as well.  We think Lawson is destined to be a mid-to-late second round pick.

Good Advice: In 2012, the 24th pick in the NBA Draft was Jared Cunningham. We advised, "Draft Draymond Green."
