Mason, Frank Jr.  Kansas  6'0" 189 PG SR. Mason was the 2016-17 Big 12 Player of the Year. He is a smart point guard that carries himself like a pro. Mason averaged 20.9 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.2 rebounds as the Senior leader of the Jayhawks. Mason really improved his shooting stroke and shot selection from his freshman to SR. season. His scoring and assist averages rose with each year. Mason shot 45% FG, 42% 3-pt fg, and 76% FT for his Kansas career. Mason is an NBA athlete. While he is not known for high flying dunks, his max. vert is 41" (same as Michael Carter-Williams.) ...Defensively, Mason is nothing special. Kansas was better by 3.7 points per 100 possessions with Mason off the floor. Mason's wingspan is 6'3.25" (a quarter inch less than Kemba Walker, a quarer-inch more than Darren Collison). ...In our opinion, Mason is a value pick in the second round. He has leadership qualities. He can shoot. He continues to improve. We think he is a top-tier NBA backup point guard today. His athletic ability gives him upside.

Good advice: In 2003, the 39th pick in the NBA Draft was Slavko Vranes. We advised, "Draft Kyle Korver."
