Mitchell is an NBA athlete with a 6'10" wingspan. He averaged just 4.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game as a freshman. He played 17.5 minutes per game. Mitchell did not attempt a three-point shot in 2022-23. His free throw shooting was horrendous at 40.5%. Mitchell had more turnovers than assists. He measured with a 37" max. vert at the 2023 NBA Draft Combine. Texas was slightly better defensively with Mitchell off the floor. ...Mitchell came to Texas with a nice resume. He was the 2022 Jordan Brand Classic MVP, as well as a McDonald's All-American. ...Mitchell is said to be a hard worker. Given his athletic gifts, if he does continue to work hard, we could envision him playing in the NBA. However, he has a long way to go in our opinion. He is mostly just a transition finisher, and offensive rebounding athlete. Potential gets people fired. I'd let someone else develop him and circle back later in his career. We expect Mitchell to be selected in the middle of round two.

Our best advice: in 2006, the 28th pick was Maurice Ager, we advised, "Draft P.J. Tucker."
