Monk, Malik Kentucky  6'3" 197 SG frosh. Monk was the most dangerous scorer in college hoops in our opinion. The SEC Freshman of the Year for 2016-17 loves to score! Monk averaged 19.8 points per game. He hits a high volume of three point shots and does so at a 39% clip (104 of 262). He is a good foul shooter, connecting on 82.2% this season. Monk had slightly more assists than turnovers. Defense, at this point, is not Monk's thing. Not that he can’t play D effectively for a possession, but his consistency on D is erratic at this stage of his career. He also has very short arms. His wingspan of 6'3.5" is the same as Eddie House. In fact, in the DraftExpress measurement database, only J.J. Redick, and DaJuan Wagner have a shorter wingspan among drafted shooting guards. Monk can make up for some of his lack of wingspan with explosive leaping ability. He tested with a 42" max. vert. (same as Victor Oladipo and Ben McLemore). ...We expect Monk to be among the first six to ten players selected in the draft. We are cooler on him than others are mostly due to his defensive liabilities.

Good advice: In 2015, the 17th pick in the NBA Draft was Rashad Vaughn. We advised, "Draft Bobby Portis."
