Murphy, Trey  Virginia    6'8" 206 SF jr.

It is easy to watch Murphy and say, "this guy knows how to play". He makes smart cuts, he deflects passes, he shoots it with ease. ...Murphy averaged 11.3 points, and 3.4 rebounds in his junior year at Virginia. He previously played two seasons at Rice. The attraction for Murphy is based on his three-point shooting accuracy at 6'8". Murphy connected on 43% of his three-point attempts (52 of 120) at Virginia. He is a low turnover guy, only committing 19 t.o.'s in 739 minutes in 2020-21. Defensively, Murphy has a 7'0" wingspan, and a 38" max. vert. but his feet are not quick (by NBA standards).  Virginia was 3.1 points per 100 possessions better on defense when Murphy was not in the game. ...Murphy is an extremely impressive human being that will seamlessly fit in as a culture-guy. We believe he will be picked in the late first round.

Our best advice: in 2014, the 28th pick was CJ Wilcox. We advised, "draft Kyle Anderson."
