He shot 29.2% 3-pt. FG, and 74.8 % FT. He finished second in the SEC in Effective Field Goal Percentage. Newell had more turnovers than assists. His DEFRTG was 1.3 points worse than the Georgia team DEFRTG. He jumped a 36.5" max. vert. at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine. …We think Newell will be selected in the middle of round one. We think Newell can be a mid-tier NBA starter if he reaches his ceiling. We are, however, very leery of drafting anyone in round one that fits into our dreaded "three strike" category. That is, minus defender numbers, low percentage three-point numbers, and more t.o.'s than assists. We hear that Newell is a very coachable player.
