Patton, Justin  Creighton 6'11" 229 PF frosh. Patton started the season in a strong way. However, being somewhat dependant on a good point guard to set him up, Patton fell off a bit once Creighton lost starting PG Mo Watson to a torn ACL in January. That said, Patton was good enough to earn the Big East Freshman of the Year award. Patton shot  an amazing 67% FG on the season! His shot-blocking and quickness with the second jump stand out. Patton averaged 12.9 points, and six rebounds per game. He showed a mix of finesse, length and quickness that will give him a chance in the NBA. He grew nine inches between his high school freshman season, and his first year on the Creighton campus. Defensively, Patton's DEFRTG was 3.7 points better than the Creighton team DEFRTG. Patton needs to improve his free throw shooting (just 51% on the season), and his ball-handling/decision-making. He attempted just 15 three-point shots this season but he cashed in on eight of those (53% 3-pt.). He will also, like most freshman, need to beef up physically. ...Patton spent 2015-16 as a redshirt at Creighton. By all indications, Patton is a good kid with a fun-loving spirit and a quick wit.

Good advice: In 2013 the 9th pick in the NBA Draft was Trey Burke. We advised, "Draft C.J. McCollum."
