Pickett, Jalen

Penn St.

Pickett was the lifeblood of Penn St. basketball in 2022-23. He averaged 17.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.6 assists. He was named First Team All Big-Ten. He shot 38.1% from three-point range and 76.3% FT. Pickett plays his own pace and he is hard to speed up. He has a very old-school point guard's game, complete with ability to score in the post. His assist-to-turnover ratio was 2.89-to-1 this season.  Pickett's DEFRTG was 1.6 points better than the Penn St. team DEFRTG. He finished third in Big Ten boxscore plus/minus. …He has a 6'7.25" wingspan. Pickett played three seasons at Sienna and finished his NCAA career with a two-season run at Penn St. He is a below average runner/jumper. Max vert was 33" at the 2023 NBA Draft Combine. ...We do not expect Pickett to be drafted. We DO think he is skilled enough and more importanty, smart enough to be a NBA starter (mid-tier) in his career.

Our best advice: in 2003, the 46th pick was Sani Becirovic. We advised, "draft Kyle Korver."
