Pippen, Scotty, Jr.  Vanderbilt  6'2" 180 SG jr.

Pippen is an aggressive right-handed guard that will always give himself a chance. He averaged 20.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.9 steals per game as a Vanderbilt junior. He was First Team All-SEC the last two seasons. He uses either hand well. Pippen's jump shot is just okay. He is a career 34.3% three-point shooter, and 76.3% foul shooter. His 1.33-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio is very TWO-guard-ish but he has good vision. At barely 6'2" with a 6'5.75" wingspan, Pippen will be challenged when matched up against the bigger TWO's in the NBA. In college, Pippen was fine. His DEFRTG was only slightly worse than the Vanderbilt team DEFRTG. ...Pippen has good speed and he jumped a 37.5" max. vert. at the NBA Draft Combine. We are not sure if Pippen will be drafted. We think he should be. He has the mentality that a good two-guard needs to have. He gets to the free throw line often and a defense cannot relax when he has the ball. He led the NCAA in total points scored in 2021-22. At Vandy, Pippen had to carry the team, resulting in too many bad shots. He led the SEC in field goal attempts, and usage. With NBA players, he should settle into a role of a guy that complements others.

Our best advice: in 2017, the 41st pick was Tyler Dorsey. We advised, "draft Thomas Bryant."
