Salaun has good size and the ability to stretch defenses. The 18 year-old was playing in the best league in Europe (Jeep Elite), and he showed improvement throughout the season. He averaged 9.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 2023-24. In his last three seasons, he is a 33.8% 3-pt. shooter, and this season he improved his free throw shooting, making 74.8%. Salaun is a plus defender (3.7 points better per 100 possessions than the Cholet team DEFRTG). He has a 7'2" wingspan and when his body fills out he will have positional NBA size. He is right handed but he uses his left well. He has a 32" max. vert. He was named the Best Young Player in the Basketball Champions League. Salaun's weakness is his feel for the team game and his decision making. He had just 48 assists overshadowed by 69 turnovers. We foresee Salaun being a lottery pick. While we acknowledge his potential, we think he is a bit further away from helping an NBA team than most believe. (see video)
