Samar, Ziga  Fuenlabrada 6'6" 184 PG 1/26/01

Samar is a 21 year-old point guard with good size that played the last two seasons in the Spanish ACB (one of the best, if not THE best European League). Samar played a shade over 20 minutes per game and he averaged 7.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1 steal. He shot 47% 3-pt. FG in 2021-22, and he connected on 76.9% of his free throws. Samar has a next level feel for the game and his defensive numbers are impressive. His team was 3.6 points per 100 possessions better defensively this season when Samar was on the floor. ...His ability to make the game easier for his teammates is seemingly always on display. He had a 2.84-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He is always looking up the court and he can drop one-handed passes on the move that are on time and on target. Right handed but uses his left just as well. ...Samar is probably going to be picked late in round two. We think that is too late. Samar, to us, projects as a possible future starting PG in the NBA. We would not be surprised if he emerges as a solid PG option due to his feel and the fact that he plays effective defense.

Our best advice: in 2009, the 40th pick was Derrick Brown. We advised, "draft Danny Green."
