Sears is a combo-guard that averaged 18.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game in 2024-25. He shot 34.5% 3-pt. FG, and 84.4% FT. He was named First Team All SEC. He played two years at Ohio University before finishing up with three seasons at Alabama. Defensively, Sears gets picked on due to his size. At 5'11", with a 6'2" wingspan he is at a disadvantage. His DEFRTG was 5.1 points worse than the Alabama team DEFRTG. His 1.65-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (career) shows that he is not a pure PG. Sears is very much a combo-guard that looks to score. He led the SEC in free throw attempts. He jumped a 37.5" max. vert. at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine. We think Sears will be selected late in round two. We view him offensively as a potential mid-tier reserve guard in the NBA.

Our best advice: in 2016, Daniel Hamilton was drafted 56th. We advised, "draft Gary Payton II."
