Sheppard is a skilled, athletic, right-handed guard that shoots with accuracy. Sheppard averaged 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game as a Kentucky freshman. Sheppard shot a ridiculously great 52.1% from three-point range on heavy volume. He made 83.1% of his free throws and posted a 2.24-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Sheppard led the SEC in steals and true shooting percentage. Sheppard has active hands and he is alert. His DEFRTG was 4 points better than the Kentucky team DEFRTG. Sheppard finished 2nd in the SEC in boxscore plus/minus. Sheppard tied for the best max. vert (42") at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine. He was a 2023 McDonald's All-American. His father, Jeff Sheppard was a star at Kentucky as well. We expect Reed Sheppard to be taken among the first half of the lottery. We view him as a potential mid-tier starter in the NBA. (see video)
