Sumner, Edmond  Xavier  6'6" 176 SG jr. Sumner is a combo guard that leans more toward the SG than the PG. His 1.74-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio is strong for a kid that likes to score. Sumner was averaging 15 points, 5 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game when he tore his left ACL in January. Obviously, it remains to be seen if can return to being the high-rising athlete that he was pre-injury. ...Defensively, Sumner has the potential to be very good. His DEFRTG was noticeably better than the Xavier team DEFRTG. Sumner's wingspan is 6'9"" (same as Tony Allen and Michael Redd). ...Sumner was among our favorite guards before he was injured. He plays the game with passion and seems like he would be easy to play with. He shares. He defends. Can he regain the form he was just starting to show? We think Sumner is a first-round talent. He is being discounted, rightfully so, due to the unknowns about his ability to return to full strength.

Good advice: In 2012, the 31st pick in the NBA Draft was Jeff Taylor. We advised, "Draft Draymond Green."
