Shannon played three seasons at Texas Tech, and he finished his college career with two seasons at Illinois. He's a lefty, that averaged 23 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. He was named First Team All Big Ten and he was the Big Ten Tournament MVP. He impressed us each time we saw him play. He is a scorer with great speed. Shannon's "feel" for the TEAM game is just okay. He is best in transition, getting out and running. He is always in attack mode on offense. He does a good job getting to the free throw line (second in FTA's in the Big-Ten, in last two seasons). He had a 1.14-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He is an improving shooter from deep, at 36.2% 3-pt FG in 2023-24. He made 80.1% of his foul shots. Shannon finished second in Big Ten boxscore plus/minus. Defensively, Illinois was 0.9 points per 100 possessions better when Shannon was off the floor. We expect Shannon to be drafted late in round one (to early round two). We think Shannon has potential to be a mid-tier NBA starter some day. (see video)
