Tatum, Jayson Duke 6'8" 204 PF frosh. Tatum is a "blue-chip" forward prospect that averaged 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists as a freshman. He has a nice touch on his shot although that showed more at the free throw line (84.9% FT) than from distance (34.2% 3-pt.) this season. He is particularly adept at creating his own offense off the dribble. He is too quick for most PFs, and he is too strong and too big for many SFs. He can take smaller defenders into the post and do damage.  …Tatum had more turnovers than assists which is troubling for anyone who has aspirations of being an effective wing player in the NBA. ...Tatum's DEFRTG was a hair worse than the Duke team DEFRTG. ...Tatum has a 6'11" wingspan (same as Aaron Gordon and Dante Cunningham). ...By all accounts, Tatum is a "good kid" with a willingness to put in the  work required to improve. His shot selection was sketchy at times and he needs to be less of a ball-stopper on offense. But the holes in his game are holes that can be patched well enough in my opinion. He showed, in his one season at Duke, that he will not shy away from a big moment. We believe Tatum will be picked in the top-half of the lottery.

Decent Advice: In 2009, the 6th pick in the NBA Draft was Jonny Flynn. We advised, "Draft Stephen Curry."
